Production history of PVC doors

The production of PVC doors is one of the youngest technologies in this field today.

Two years ago, only the Errebi Porte and Girasole plants were engaged in such production. And even today, when PVC doors are becoming increasingly popular, the production of such doors is supplied by few manufacturers.

Двери пвх производствоFrom the very beginning, lamination was used only in the production of furniture. Laminate began to be widely used only in the mid-80s. Until that time, wood (solid wood), slabs covered with natural veneer, particle boards impregnated with resin and lined with special paper were used as the main structural material in the production of cabinet furniture.

And although already in the mid-80s the laminated board began to be quite widely used in the production of furniture, by the 90s among all the boards lined with paper-resin films, laminated boards were no more than 25 percent.

In Russia, laminated boards are usually understood as chipboard, which is finished with paper-resin films. Before gluing to the DPS, the films undergo an incomplete curing process in special presses under the influence of temperature and pressure.

The very first doors that appeared in Russia under the name PVC were covered with melamine paper, the technology of applying which came from the furniture industry. Melamine coating was very convenient in the production of doors, as due to its small thickness (about 0.2 mm), the films lay well on the base. It had a melamine coating and good external characteristics (such a coating reproduces the texture and colors of natural wood in detail), but it had one drawback: it had poor adhesion to the base, was poorly cleaned, and was sometimes covered with cracks in curved areas.

Later, melamine paper was replaced (again coming from the furniture industry) by two-color laminate with a thickness of about 0.4 to 0.8 mm. The laminate was enthusiastically received by the manufacturers, as it had higher aesthetic characteristics, was better held on the base and was more durable.

Today, in the production of PVC doors, this laminate is used for the most part. Experiments are being conducted to further improve its characteristics (appearance and strength).
